I
watched some clips about Wikipedia and learned both positive and negative
aspects of that.
As you know, Wikipedia is very
useful tool. I realized it again by watching the clips. We can research what we
want to know easily and quickly. However, some information written in Wikipedia
are incorrect, fake, not accurate, or not true. Therefore, I think we must distinguish
correct information and incorrect one. Otherwise, we have a misunderstanding,
and may teach about that to the other person. It’s very serious problem, I
think. What I described above is familiar with many people, and it’s a negative
aspect of Wikipedia.
On the
other hand, a new thing that I learned from his talking is to contribute to
African school children. Many school children in African countries don’t have
access to research material, and their school doesn’t have library, so Wikipedia
helps them to research for their studying. Before I watched the video, I hadn’t
known that Wikipedia plays an important role in developing countries.
From now, I will try to recognize if the
information is correct or not and also will be more careful not to get wrong
information when using Wikipedia. However, I will continue to use the tool, I don’t
want to stop using, because it takes less time to find the answer than other site.
Of course, when I have a lot of time, I will research the other official site.
I
couldn’t organize my thought well, but in the end, I think we should use Wikipedia
and other site depending on the time and the situation.
I agree with you. I also think Wikipedia is useful and I usually make use of it when I want to know quickly something I don't know.
