Communities I Have Benefited From - Tomoki Fujiwara

I had a lot of opportunities to be a member of some communities, such as a local community, a religious community, and like that. As for a local community, there is a big festival, called ‘Hamaorisai festival’, which is a festival that we carry a portable shrine on 10-30 people’s shoulder to the ocean. It’s difficult to tell you specifically the state of the festival, so I’d be grateful if you could google images of ‘Hamaorisai festival’. Through this festival, I was able to get acquainted with a lot of people in my town. Seemingly, we have a strong community in our town, but the number of the participants in the festival was less than half of the population and it decreases gradually. In fact, I haven’t participated in this festival for years. The second community for me was a religious community. I used to go to a church, because my mother was a Christian. I learned a lot of important things like the morality or something like that, though I seldom go to the church recently.
