Bia Figueiredo
is recognized worldwide for her abilities with cars and speed. As a female racing
driver, Bia faced a lot of challenges related to stereotypes. Her career started
when she was just a child, with 8 years old. In this age she had already won
some Kart racings.
Her mother
was a dentist and her father was a psychologist. The first moment Bia asked to
drive they felt insecure, not because she was a girl, but because it was dangerous.
Even with this eminent ominous situation, they decided to be supportive for
her. And we can be positive that it was a wise choice!
Bia won a
lot of racings, prix and other championships during her career.
She drove Kart
Racings until her 17s, then went to Formula Renault BR and since 2005 she rides
at Indianapolis, USA. When asked
about which cartoon character she looks most like, she answered it was Felicia,
that one who love animals, as she is an animal-lover too. She admires
Rich Mears, and every time that’s possible, she goes along with him, trying to
learn more and more.
I respect her for her passion of car racing and learning more about it. I also think family's support is essential for success.
ReplyDeleteMe too!! Thinks tend to be really hard without family's support
