Ana Beatriz Figueiredo-Satoe Konuma

Introduction
In the interview, she expects that being genderless in sports will become more familiar in the future. Besides, as for car racing,  she won the first prize, so she hopes that her winning will help car racing become more open to girls.
After watching the video, I thought of gender problems (especially LGBT, which I am interested in). I hope the society will be more genderless, but today the prejudices and problems of gender still remains. In fact, I also suffer from the prejudices a little.

My Experience of a Gender Problem
To be honest, I am something of a transvestite (a person who wears clothes designed for the opposite sex). Of course I like women’s pretty clothes, but I like wearing men’s cool clothes, too. However, my family strongly objects to me. When I buy male clothes, my mother always complains, “Why are you buying male clothes!? They are for boys, NOT for girls! They are so plain and don’t make you pretty! I can’t understand you.” In addition, my father says unpleasantly, ”You're odd. Do you want to be popular with girls, not boys?” Whenever I hear such words, I wonder why I am not allowed to wear the cool clothes just because I am female. But those words and the way they say hurt me so mentally that I try to buy only female’s clothes now.

Conclusion
From Ana Beatriz Figueiredo interview and my experience, I hope people to enjoy what they really like regardless of their sex. I think the favorite should not be tied up with sex because the things people like are based on not their sex but their personality.

  1. Thank you for sharing your personal experiences!
I also had similar experiences when I was young. However these days I feel people's perception is getting wider than before.
